Shahrukh Khan to play the ultimate villain?
If the latest buzz from Bollywood is to be believed, Shahrukh Khan is being considered for the role of the ultimate villain Hindi films have seen.
And that villain is none other than Mogambo in the sequel to the 1987 hit film ‘Mr. India’ that had Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in lead roles and late Amrish Puri as the dreaded and fearsome Mogambo.
According to reports, Shekhar Kapur , who directed ‘Mr. India’, is not in a mood to wield the directorial reins again for the sequel but he is taking an active interest in the casting of appropriate actors.
Kapur reportedly wants a strong actor to step into the shoes of the ultimate villain that was immortalized by the supremely talented Amrish Puri more than a decade back. And since there is a dearth of good villains in the industry presently, the reclusive filmmaker has zeroed down on Shahrukh Khan to play the role.
SRK has done roles with negative shades at the start of his career (remember ‘Darr’ and ‘Baazigar’) but to play Mogambo convincingly would require even SRK to stretch his acting abilities to a new level altogether.
There has been no official confirmation if SRK has agreed to the role or not. Even Shekhar Kapur is keeping a low profile before he has completely drawn the list of actors for the sequel.
As for SRK, he is presently looking forward to his home production Billu Barber .
