Unlike his peer Khans Shah Rukh and Aamir, Salman appears averse to experimental cinema and is sticking with genres that have worked for him in the past - Romance, Action and Comedy.

A look at Salman's upcoming films - which he detailed in a recent tweet - confirms the perception.

After completing his current project Dabanng, Salman will work on Ready, Bodyguard, Partner 2 and Kick.

Ready is a musical, romance comedy based on a 2008 Telugu film headlining south actors Ram and Genelia. It was one of the highest grossing films of the year. Anees Bazmee will helm the Bollywood remake and reportedly plans to retain several comical sequences from the original.

Bodyguard, another romance comedy is a remake of the similarly titled Malyalam film by Siddique. It has an interesting plot - Its protagonist is a young man with a strange proclivity - He always wants to emulate anyone he admires. He doesn't care what his hero does - he could be a cop or a crook. Also, when he starts admiring someone he wants to be close to the person, act as his bodyguard!

Siddique is being retained as the director for the Bollywood version being produced by Atul Agnihotri, Salman's brother-in-law.

Partner 2, of course, is the sequel to David Dhawan riotous 2007 comedy Partner, starring Salman Khan, Govinda, Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. It remains to be seen if Katrina Kaif will be retained in the cast.

Finally, Kick is a remake of the similarly titled 2009 Telgu action romance directed by Surender Reddy, starring Ravi Teja. It's the story of a man who loves challenges in life and does things just to get a kick out of them.
